IDS Hockey was created in 1993, because of the need for a new faster puck that played more like an Ice Hockey puck.

 

We wanted to design a roller hockey puck that was not only faster but also played flatter and had the same feel as an ice puck, and also close to the same size and weight.

 

After numerous designs and prototypes the final design was completed in 1994. There have been several patents and continuation in parts filed at the USPTO.

 

The IDS PRO-SHOT puck has been the official puck of governing bodies like the AAU, CHIL, and other European organizations. It has also had the title of the official roller hockey puck for most of the top roller hockey tournament series, like Torhs America.
